Q – Are you in favor of movements that attempt to unite all Christians as much as possible? This unity can either be organizational or in terms of cooperation, conference, association, or subscribing to the same media, references or technology? A – Initially, that sounds romantic and desirable. But between an extreme yes and an extreme no, I must answer NO. It could be dangerous when spirituality is unified. Unification could lead to centralization, to standardization, to control and manipulation. What happens to a centralized, unified body when mistakes, manipulation or corruption are committed at the top? The misdeed of a few or even of one could destroy the entire organization. In comparison, small, autonomous or independent religious congregations would be more effective in the survival and agility of the faith more than a big, unified one. Look at guerilla bands that are small and nimble enough to survive annihilation by big, unified, official armed forces. It is their smallness that enable them to make guerilla raids and attacks. Big size could be a setback; a big ship cannot turn quickly. And, in times of systematic persecution, a big ship is difficult to hide or to run. The presence and growth of many small, autonomous/independent congregations is so much more desirable than that of a few or --- God forbid --- only one religious organization. Moreover, when there is assimilation, unification, etc. a small group or people or one single individual gets to control everyone else.

pastor, palagyan naman po ng share button ang site para po maishare ko to.. like na like ko po to..pls po. thank u so much! God bless us more!
ReplyDeleteCUT-PASTE NA LANG MUNA.
ReplyDeleteAGREE! LALO NA DITO KUYA, ALAM MO NAMAN ANG SITWASYON DITO DI BA, YOU WERE HERE BEFORE GOING BACK TO PINAS.
ReplyDeleteMas mapanganib kung may sobra/extreme "unity". Anything that says "One-world" could be dangerous like "One-World Religion", One-World-Economy, "One-World-Anything."
(Parang Pope) EH KUNG SAAN NYA DALHIN YUNG ORGANIZATION?
Nung first three centuries of Christianity, maraming autonomous/independent congregations founded by the different apostles and even by others NOT among the apostles. Sabi ni Jesus: "Let them. Whoever is not against you is for you." There was not only one Christianity; there were MANY CHRISTIANITIES. Pag may nagke-claim na sila lang original church, i-google nyo ang pangalan ng church nila plus the words "claims of _______ refuted..." or something like that. You will find many intelligent write-ups that disprove their claims.
I fully agree Ptr ED 10 thumbs up. as the unification of church is a big problem now in some other churches, na pag umaklasang tawag na nila sa grupo, "REBELDE"...e nagising sa katotohanan an gmga nagaklas dahil sa well manipulated na ang by laws ng church at di na god's law pinaiiral..
ReplyDeleteSounds good but in a long run will not work. Tama nang ganito. Let's be unified in spirit na lang. Some things are effective in own ways. Tulad ng samahan natin we use our talents and unique gifts to play our strengths. Pampagulo lang yan. Tsaka we can work harmoniously among them naman without centralization. Some things are better this way, I guess.
ReplyDeleteAT BASE SA KARANASAN KO SA BAYANG ITO, MABILIS LUMAGO ANG GAWAIN NG PANGINOON KAPAG HINDI CENTRALIZED AT NAGKAKAROON NG PAGKAKATAON ANG BAWAT ISA NA HINDI LAMANG LUMAGO SA SALITA KUNDI MAGING SA PAGLILINGKOD AT LEADERSHIP HIGIT SA LAHAT. KAYA ANG MGA UMAALIS DITO PAGDATING SA IBANG LUGAR AY NAGIGING LEADER NG MGA GAWAIN DAHIL SA PAGKAKATAONG IBINIBIGAY NG DECENTRALIZED.
ReplyDeleteCARLOS JESUS

Disagreement Between Paul and Barnabas
36 Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.” 37 Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38 but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. 39 They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, 40 but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the grace of the Lord. 41 He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.
Amen po. God bless!
